It may not be the norm, however as Homebake 2001 gears up to cater to all tastes, we are proud to welcome one of Australia's foremost exponents of the alternative movement who went on to score incredible success both locally and internationally. With a return command performance of none other than the fabulous HOODOO GURUS. Having sold seven multiple gold and platinum albums within Australia and with a hiatus of four years on the live circuit this quartet return to share the stage with the respect of many of the acts on the Homebake bill.

With a recent sold out national headline tour, we welcome SOMETHING FOR KATE to HOMEBAKE 2001. Riding high on the phenomenal commercial success of their just released stunning album, "Echolalia", SFK are current recipients of mass critical acclaim. It is well deserved considering that "Echolalia", did debut at #2 on the Aria album charts (only held from the number one spot by the Moulin Rouge soundtrack album).

Whilst on the theme of successful acts that have defined the pop/rock formula, we also welcome the mighty YOU AM I who as we all know are one of the most exciting live acts this country has on offer. Their recent album release "Dress Me Slowly" blitzed the charts and saw the band deliver yet another national sell-out tour. The band are likely to be touring internationally prior to their performance at Homebake 2001, their inclusion on the bill is sure to rock you.

Last year, they had to cancel due to a European tour, however this year we have them well and truly locked in, we refer to none other than the mighty Melbourne band, 28 DAYS. They have struck platinum with their number one debuting album "Upstyledown" and keep pushing boundaries using a hybrid of hip hop, punk and rock - another band with an awesome live rep.

Having recently delivered a corker performance at both the recent ARIA Awards and Livid Festival in Brisbane - and taking the place of SHIHAD - we welcome THE SUPERJESUS to the stage at HOMEBAKE 2001. Having scored incredible success with the release of their superb album "Jet Age" Sarah Mcleod and friends will make sure to rock the Homebake house!

On the verge of releasing the follow up to his 100,000 plus selling "Black The Sun" album and having just completed a huge sell out tour, ALEX LLOYD brings his 6 piece big band with their brand of ethereal pop/rock to present all his newest material from the soon to be released "Watching Angels Mend" album.

As 'Dust Me Selecta' continues to gather huge momentum, Homebake 2001 is proud to have the cheekiest three-piece dance/electronic/pop on board, they're every megastars' favourite, GERLING. Just about to release their highly anticipated new album GERLING are sure to surprise the crowd with their quirky antics.

Displaying a completely different musical style we welcome the extremely successful JOHN BUTLER TRIO whose blues-rock has set audiences alive this year with the release of his sensational debut chart-topping album "Three".

Bringing back a touch of pure punk rock dynamics are the much-heralded BODYJAR who will unleash their dynamic performance to fire up the audience.

Whilst we are on the punk rock trail, Homebake 2001 also welcomes all ages favourites, ONE DOLLAR SHORT with a new EP entitled "Press and Hold" out now.

With a touch of sampled mayhem thrown in for good measure, we also present Melbourne's fabulous SUPERHEIST who have recently been nominated for the MTV video awards in the category of International Viewers Choice Award.

Keeping on the sunny side of rock, we are also happy to present Perth's most infamous, ESKIMO JOE who have scored much acclaim with their new album "Girl" which is out now. "Who sold her out" is currently pounding the airwaves and their new single "Planet Earth" is out in October.

Diversity is our aim and there's another Sydney based outfit who have not only sold a truck load of albums but have also managed to make national headlines for absurd reasons. They are none other than the uniquely brilliant and sensational entertainers MACHINE GUN FELLATIO. They're ready to cause chaos and mayhem at Homebake with their crazy on stage antics.

We are very proud to announce the inclusion of rapper MC TREY on the bill. She'll be bustin it up and breakin it down and keeping the energy levels hi!

Also back to whip up a frenzy as only they can are those balaclava-clad lads TISM with a new album "De Rigeur Mortis" due for release in October.

With his long awaited debut chart toping album "3000 Feet High" saturating the airwaves, PAUL MAC will deliver his irresistible dance tracks, moody chill out numbers and menacing big beats.

Of course, we can't begin to talk about dance acts without mentioning SONICANIMATION. They won the gong for "Best Live Act" at 3D World's first Annual Dance Music Awards and are just about to release the first single from the forthcoming album (which incidentally features Jon Toogood of Shihad on vocals).

Technomasters SONICANIMATION sure know how to get the crowd moving. They will be joined by another Homebake dance act, the most wonderful beatmasters, THE RESIN DOGS. With their style now firmly rooted in hip hop, THE RESIN DOGS also know how to move a crowd. They too are about to release a brand spanking new EP and live album.

The extremely talented SKUNKHOUR will deliver their clever and unique blend of rock and funk with an energy driven performance. Their latest offering "The Go" has delivered several radio hits this year and we welcome these local masters of rockin' funk to the HOMEBAKE fold.

Then, there's the dynamic dance duo with their friends, now famously known as PNAU - they just re-released the brilliant album "Sombanova" and will have everyone at Homebake 2001 groovin' and movin' in the aisles.

This Brisbane five piece has left audiences across the country speechless with their blend of groove based angelic pop rock GEORGE will be releasing their debut album later this year, they're sure to stun this year's HOMEBAKE audience.

She's sold over 160,000 albums and she has a golden voice. She's been lauded right across Australia and as far as America; she is none other than the amazing KASEY CHAMBERS! In a unique move to Homebake, we are proud to present this most celebrated Award winning alternative country performer.

Also riding high on a wave of success with their multi ARIA nominated debut album "Sunset Studies" are Melbourne's most musically intricate, the fabulous AUGIE MARCH. Last seen in Sydney town earlier this year, Augie March have been wowing audiences nationwide and will no doubt do the same at Homebake.

On the verge of releasing an amazing third album is one of electronica's finest and we refer to none other than the very remarkable ENDORPHIN. 'AM:PM' is the new double album to be released in early October and is destined to be a massive success. Endorphin will be at Homebake performing these new tracks and more.

We have the pleasure of welcoming the very beautiful sounds of ART OF FIGHTING who have captured hearts and minds the world over both live and with their intricate debut album 'Wires'.

Joining the already impressive list of electronic acts featured will be 1200 TECHNIQUES who have been building a solid reputation for brilliant live performances. This Melbourne three piece will definitely have the crowds dancing at Homebake with their hybrid mix of hip hop and electronica. They've just released a new EP with the lead track, 'See Me Rock' scoring plenty of airplay action across Australia.

Also making waves on the dance scene are the beatmasters from Newcastle, ON INC. They have just released their debut album appropriately titled 'The Rhythm Flavour' and like most acts on Homebake, can be heard non stop on radio with their new track 'Silver Girl Shuffle'.

Venturing from Melbourne will be techno's dynamic duo, POUND SYSTEM whose amazing new album 'You Know It Makes Sense' features the radio hit 'Know Who You Are' with Katie from George on lead vocals - we hope that this pairing can happen for a special live performance at Homebake. Whatever happens, pound System garuantee to ROCK the house down.

For the first time at Homebake, from Perth, all girl rock wonders, LASH whose new single "Beauty Queen" is out now.

DAN BRODIE & THE BROKEN ARROWS have had a bumper year with the success of their debut album "Big Black Guitar" so be sure to catch this man and his band delivering their alternative country sound at HOMEBAKE this year.

THE PERSIAN RUGS (formerly The Moops) are one of the most exciting of today's pop combos to emerge from the teen scene. They're fab! Theyıre gear! They're here! The rugs (as their fans refer to them) play a swinging style that is now. The cutting edge of fashionable, 60s psychedelic pop dance. The price is right the cost of one admission is your mind! The Persian Rugs are Rick Grossman (bass), Mark Kingsmill (drums), Brad Shepherd (guitar) and Dave Faulkner (farfisa, guitar and vocals).

With a hybrid of strong dynamics, subtle experimentation and an ever-present classic sense of melody, BLUEBOTTLE KISS attract a highly loyal following in Australia, they take the HOMEBAKE stage with a heightened intensity as a four piece.

DECODER RING take influence from the 70s (Neu, Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, Television and dubious disco), the members of various Sydney bands have created an instrumental repertoire that has been described as "romantic, hypnotic and positive". We welcome Decoder Ring to the HOMEBAKE bill this year.

THE HIVE are well known to the local music scene and recently performed a guest spot with international act Nitin Sawhney, they'll deliver their eclectic style of the fusion of drum and bass, funk and house at HOMEBAKE this year.

New Hip Hop style act THE PEDESTRIANZ will deliver their unique sample based vinyl mayhem creating a sound built from record crates garnered from Op shops across country.

Joining our amazing array of electronic acts will be the first of our (in)famous DJ's - that's right, in amongst the various musical styles featured at Homebake, you'll also be able to catch both the almighty beXta and long standing respected DJ, Stephen Allkins aka [Love] Tattoo spinning the discs.

Yet more DJs - SAMUEL JACKSON, DECLAN LEE and PERIL will be sure to get you movin' and groovin' with their individual wicked beats and disc spinning talent.

It's a huge line up. Homebake 2001 is chock full of the hottest musical talent Australia has to offer and it's still the best value for money festival in town at only $55.00 + booking fee (extra changes apply via Ticketek).
