This year, HOMEBAKE gives each and everyone of its punters a chance to achieve their 15 seconds of fame. For the first time ever recorded at a music festival, a touch of Hollywood comes to Homebake with the actual on site filming of the highly anticipated movie Garage Days.
Currently being filmed on location in Sydney, Garage Days is a fictitious movie starring < Pia Miranda and Kick Gurry (both known for their excellent performances in the hit movie Looking For Alibrandi). With the storyline being loosely based around the lives and struggles of a rock band (and without giving too much away), Garage Days is directed by Alex Proyas - known for his work as director of The Crow, and Dark City. As all those who have seen these internationally acclaimed movies would know, Alex Proyas has been phenominally successful for adding a dark & mysterious touch to his movies - usually resulting in an unsuspecting ending. He has talked in interviews about this little Australian comedy about a garage band in Sydney and all that they go through, and he said the movie would have plenty of his signature visual stylizations, including a crane shot into a garage similar to the opening shots of The Crow and Dark City. Starring as itself, Homebake 2001 will be converged upon by the Garage Days movie cameras giving all Homebake 2001 punters a chance to appear in this forthcoming movie.

From Monday October 29 HOMEBAKE 2001 and Triple J urges all up and coming bands to tune in for details of how they can be in the running to win the hottest festival prize in town ­ a spot on HOMEBAKE and a cameo role in the movie!

The competition will close on November 16 (with the winner announced on Friday November 23rd) so all entrants will need to get cracking now. If you are an up and coming band and reckon you might fancy yourself becoming a moviestar at the same time send a one track demo with a one page bio to:
