November 17th News - Competitions!
Homebake 2003 is cooking big time and as we get closer to the
big day, SATURDAY DECEMBER 6TH, the action is certainly hotter than
ever.
We've already announced
the final line-up for Homebake 2003 and now we announce that both
Triple J and Channel [V] have
rather huge and special HOMEBAKE competitions running right NOW!
Triple J are offering one lucky winner the chance
to have one of our HOMEBAKE stars 1200 TECHNIQUES
actually come and play at your home via their HOME
& HOSED HOMEBAKE competition!
Not only will you be able to have 1200 Techniques perform in your
home, but you will also have Triple J's own Robbie Buck
bring his famous ‘Home And Hosed' program direct
your home broadcasting the proceedings live on Triple J right across
the nation!
For further details, please listen daily to Triple J for clues or
visit the website here.
And the huge competitions keep coming!
Our friends at Channel [V] have announced their
massive ROVER'S BITCHIN' 2 TAKE U 2 HOMEBAKE!

BRAND
NEW to the site is a series of 'self portraits' drawn by
Homebake 2003 stars. Next "cab off the rank" is multiple Aria Award
nominees, SOMETHING FOR KATE. Having recently released
their brilliant new album, "The Official Fiction"
SOMETHING FOR KATE will be one of the Main stage stars at HOMEBAKE
2003. Check out SFK's self portrait here.
Our first portrait was by Aria Award nominee & Dance Music Award
winner, KATALYST. Having recently released the
brilliant remix album, "Agent Maniplated", KATALYST
will be one of the Big Top stage stars at HOMEBAKE 2003. Check out
KATALYST's self portrait (click the pic)
as not only are they brilliant musicians, but we also reckon that
they may have a career as artists!!
Check out our amazing line up of bands here.
But remmeber that there is so much more than just bands
at HOMEBAKE 2003...
The DJ's!
HOMEBAKE may not be a typical dance festival but we certainly do
our best to put on Australia's finest dance/electronic/beats/hip
hop etc acts. HOMEBAKE 2003 isn't short of a famous name in this
category (PNAU, Resin Dogs, Katalyst, Downsyde etc) and to compliment
these styles we are happy to once again include our small array
of DJ's.
So, amongst these fine electronic based acts, we are proud to present
none other than the very famous BEXTA, the very
hip BEN KORBEL, and the very cool ALEX
TAYLOR – all spinning their discs in between the
live beats. Our star DJ's will feature late on in the day in the
Big Top doing their thing alongside the big names.
Other Attractions
HOMEBAKE is maintaining its
tradition of providing support and exposure to up and coming local
music.
The Hopetoun Hotel Incentive competition is currently
taking place weekly at Sydney's Hopetoun Hotel.
HOMEBAKE will host the as yet unknown and very deserving victors
who will win the opening slot on the Hopetoun stage.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the winner soon.
And to add to the entertainment, HOMEBAKE 2003 will present a bit
of interactive action via the inclusion of the now (in)famous Beat
The Music music trivia team.
Beat The Music has become quite a hit across a variety of pubs and
clubs throughout Sydney and now it comes to HOMEBAKE. So, whilst
each band gets their gear off (the stage!) at the Hopetoun Stage
- punters will get the chance to prove their musical skills and
perhaps win a brilliant prize or two as well as being entertained
and amused by participating in this game of skill (& frustration
due to the odd memory blank).
That's it for the entertainment folks. On another important and
more serious note HOMEBAKE 2003 is proud to be associated with the
Motor Accidents Authority's "Arrive Alive' initiative.
The Arrive Alive campaign aims to increase road safety awareness
and better on road behaviour particularly targeting the under 25's
of the youth market. Check out their website for more information
http://www.arrivealive.com.au
And on a side note, make sure to keep your eyes peeled and your
ears tuned to the airwaves for details of a couple of seriously
HUGE competitions courtesy of our presenting parties,
Channel V and Triple J.
Also don't forget as with previous years a HOMEBAKE album featuring
all the hits from the stars of HOMEBAKE 2003 will be released –
HOMEBAKE VOLUME 7 through Shock Records will be
available closer to the event. Please read on for the full and final
list of all the acts appearing at this year's HOMEBAKE festival!
Presented by Triple J, Channel V & Drum Media, it's a huge
line up with a star studded and stellar bunch of Aussie superstars
- over 40 bands, performers, roving performers & DJ's in total.
HOMEBAKE 2003 is destined to be one of the most
exciting & finest music festivals of the summer period and will
also feature a variety of extra activities and features including
The HOMEBAKE Cinema Tent
our famous international food fair
a plethora of market and information stalls
& much, much more
(incl. our soon to be announced observation of Human Rights day
).
It's a full day packed to the brim with the hottest musical talent
Australia has to offer and it's still the best value for money festival
in town at only $70.00 + booking fee (extra changes apply via Ticketek).
