SOMETHING FOR KATE
2006 has been a busy year for Melbourne three piece Something for Kate. After an 18 month hiatus where singer & guitarist Paul Dempsey, bassist Stephanie Ashworth and drummer Clint Hyndman carefully constructed the songs for their new album, the band has emerged with a new dynamic both on record and at their live shows.
Earlier this year SFK completed their 5th studio album ‘Desert Lights’ which debuted at number one nationally. ‘Cigarettes and Suitcases’ – which was the first single taken from the album - signaled a fresh and decidedly more guitar based sound for the new record. Their sold-out ‘Sci-Fi Sunsets’ national tour in May and June gave fans a taste of the new album and re-established Something for Kate as one of the country's most engaging live acts.
Something for Kate will play a collection of tunes from their ‘Desert Lights’ album along with some much loved back catalogue favourites and a few surprises when they take to the stage at this year's HOMEBAKE Festival!
