TOM COONEY

While it took Tom Cooney until his early 20s to start singing and writing songs, his musical inclinations were first piqued when he was 12. Falling to sleep at night, his neighbour would play classical guitar on his back deck and the sounds would filter through the trees into Tom's room.

That man became Tom's guitar tutor, teaching him classical and flamenco guitar. It’s an influence which carries through to this day. Nearing the end of his life as a student the loss of his first love drove him to write and the fruits of his labour will be realised soon with the release of his first EP.

This Brisbane based top independent storytelling talent is set to present his hauntingly beautiful vocals to the masses at HOMEBAKE this year.
