ED KUEPPER AND THE KOWALSKI COLLECTIVE In 1973, while still at high school, Ed Kuepper formed The Saints, the group widely acknowledged (along with The Sex Pistols and The Ramones) as having set the template which we today know as 'punk'. Since the demise of The 'original' Saints in late 1978, Kuepper formed the equally as seminal group The Laughing Clowns before he made the decision to work under his own name in 1984.

Since then Kuepper has released a mountain of critically acclaimed albums. Move forward to 2006 and Ed Kuepper is joined by legendary drummer Jeffrey Wegener, who has previously played with Ed Kuepper in both The Saints and Laughing Clowns (he also played for a brief time in Nick Cave's group The Birthday Party), as well as Melbourne's Young Charlatans, Wegener is perhaps the most natural musical foil for Kuepper's exquisite rhythms and electric-guitar playing.

Peter Oxley , the bass player with much loved early eighties Sydney act, The Sunnyboys completes the trio known as ED KEUPPER AND THE KOWALSKI COLLECTIVE. After a series of highly received shows throughout the country in 2006, they are about to release their debut album 'Jean Lee & the Yellow Dog'.

In opening track 'Hang Jean Lee', Kuepper & co. revisit the sound of the early Saints via a three minute blast of visceral rock 'n roll. All blazing guitars and a furious pace. Elsewhere on tracks like 'Demolition' and 'Real to Me', Kuepper recalls the sounds of the early nineties and his renowned tunes like 'The Way I Make You Feel' and 'Everything I've Got'.

It wouldn't be an Ed Kuepper album, without progression and on tracks like 'Miracles' and 'Shame', Kuepper moves in direction and groove where more akin to Texan band Spoon than anything he has ever visited before.

Be sure to catch Ed Kuepper and the Kowalski Collective when they deliver what will be a memorable performance at HOMEBAKE 2007.
