It's become one of the hottest festival tickets in town and there's no doubt that it is also shaping up to be the most musically diverse and finest HOMEBAKE to date. Celebrating its 8th anniversary, we've already told you that HOMEBAKE 2002 will be presenting the best in pop, rock, punk, ska, dance, electronica, country and DJ's and now, we are proud as punch to announce the next (& huge) array of featured acts.

Keep your eye on the TV, your ears tuned to the radio and your hands flicking through the press because there will be some great competitions coming in the next month.

HOMEBAKE band announcements always prove to provide an essay's worth of reading and although we like to get straight to the point, it can be quite difficult to contain descriptions, especially when we get to announce such big names as…

Perennial HOMEBAKE favourites, and forever the inciters of much on stage chaos, those 'young terrorists' who have redefined electronica, GERLING, return to be a part of the home-grown festival. Renowned for their onstage antics and wild performances, GERLING will no doubt entertain the masses.

Whilst we continue our ongoing promotional campaign for our brand new stage, The Acoustic Pavilion, in a unique move for HOMEBAKE, we welcome Violet Town's most famous export KILLING HEIDI for their inaugural HOMEBAKE appearance being totally in acoustic mode.

They've amassed quite a reputation for their live shows worldwide, HOMEBAKE welcomes NZ finest rockers THE D4 who were likened to Motorhead, AC/DC and Jon Spencer when NME saluted them with a rave review earlier this year. Expect no more than a high-octane explosive set from this band of rock gods!

Also riding on a huge high with a copious amount of critical acclaim and being the most in demand new act in Australia at the moment, Melbourne's most rocking new act, JET make their debut HOMEBAKE appearance. They’re hip, handsome, young and full of energy and they’re sure to lure you in hook, line and sinker with their crossbreed of retro rock and pop laden tunes. Be warned, there is no doubt about it JET will take you to a higher place this at this year’s HOMEBAKE!

Bringing a fresh face to pop, WAIKIKI have just released their highly acclaimed debut CD, ‘I’m Already Home’. You’ll be familiar with this new Sydney outfit from their infectious brand of indie pop which has been embraced by virtually everyone from Triple J to the smash hit TV series ‘The Secret Life Of Us’.

Being one of Australia's most popular (& rarely performing) live dance acts, the ever-hip PNAU join HOMEBAKE 2002 to celebrate the release of their impending new single ‘Uno Noche’. Joining PNAU in the electronic category will be DJ wonder-boy, KID KENOBI and the most infamous man behind the decks, JAMES DE LA CRUZ (from The Avalanches).

Hailing from QLD, they've built up an incredible live following and look set to be one of the most exciting acts of 2003, THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT will surely get the pulses pumping when they deliver their highly driven set.

Moving right along and joining the celebrations of the launch of our brand new acoustic pavilion - will be former Ratcat front man, SIMON DAY performing a bunch of new tunes. Also joining in on the acoustic action will be the Australia's answer to Billy Bragg (although without so many political overtones), the very lovely and humorous LAURA IMBRUGLIA.

Inner city legends BLUEBOTTLE KISS have celebrated recent success with ‘Revenge Is Slow’ their most acclaimed album to date with all four singles achieving high rotation on Triple J. Their artistic atmospheric performance is sure to entice avid interest all around.

He has had incredible success with his previous band, Custard, and has now been commended for his musical scores for the forthcoming film 'Garage Days' which HOMEBAKE itself stars in. Now with new band, DAVE Mc CORMACK & THE POLAROIDS, Mr Mc Cormack joins the star-studded line up for HOMEBAKE 2002.

Keeping company with Dave, and holding his own right in the popularity stakes is crossover legend, DAN BRODIE AND THE BROKEN ARROWS who’s new album ‘Empty Arms, Broken Hearts’ has been nominated for two ARIA Awards this year.

Last, but not least for this announcement, is young band of the moment, ANTISKEPTIC who have scored an amazing amount of radio play from their debut album ‘Memoirs Of A Common Man’.

That's another 13 acts & 2 DJ's to an already seriously huge line-up over 5 very impressive stages! (See below for complete listed line-up to date)

We've told you about all our other activities including The Homebake Cinema Tent; the sports team, the rides; the very fine local and international food fare; the market stalls; the community information and awareness stalls; the Reach Out Signing Tent and the street performers. And now, after almost 2 years of planning, we're pleased to announce that 20th Century Fox Films together with producers Mystery Clock, finally present the new Australian Film, GARAGE DAYS which (as we have mentioned) features HOMEBAKE in its first major motion picture starring role. Released nationally on October 3rd, be sure to check out this hit comedy movie at a cinema near you.

As the primary focus is on music, HOMEBAKE 2002 will spread a variety of acts across five big stages including the main stage, the massive Triple J Big Top, The Dome Stage and our brand new Acoustic Pavilion. Last, but by all means not least, we have The Hopetoun Stage, named after Sydney’s prestigious Surry Hills venue renowned for its continual support of local talent. The Hoey, as it’s fondly referred to offers a special initiative this year, every unsigned act to play the venue between now and November 15 automatically goes in contention to open The Hopetoun Stage at HOMEBAKE 2002.

It's a huge line up and there's still more to announce. HOMEBAKE 2002 is shaping up to be the most exciting festival event on the summer calendar.Tickets are selling extra fast this year - so please don't leave it until it's too late! HOMEBAKE is still the best value for money festival in town at only $60.00 + booking fee (extra changes apply via Ticketek).
