Yes folks, HOMEBAKE 2002 is set to deliver its most brilliant array of local musical talent in the history of the event including major acts from all genres of music taking in the hottest acts this country has to offer in pop, rock, blues, ska, punk, dance, electronica, country and DJ¹s. Put simply HOMEBAKE lives on in its eighth year as a huge celebration of Australian talent!

HOMEBAKE 2002, held in the auspicious and stunning surrounds of The Domain (within the Royal Botanical Gardens) Sydney City on Saturday December 7, 2002 celebrates the end of another year! This year, HOMEBAKE offers a variety of acts from every musical genre you can think of, spread across five big stages including The Dome, The Big Top, The Hopetoun Stage, the newly added Acoustic Pavilion and of course the Main Stage.

We have a few final announcements to make and without further ado we are pleased as punch to announce the addition of two more bands to the bill and a few extra bonuses for fans of HOMEBAKE. They've captivated audiences around the world with their blend of beautiful three part vocal harmonies and acoustic guitar, we at HOMEBAKE are pleased to have secured three young talented women known as STIFF GINS who will chill your spine when they take part in a special performance at the acoustic pavilion.

HOMEBAKE 2002 also welcomes the winners of the Hopetoun Hotel competition, newcomers ISHERWOOD will open proceedings this year on the famous Hopetoun Stage. For a band who describe themselves as "hopeless, toe-gazing wretches", ISHERWOOD have made many friends in the indie-music world this year with their strangely graceful and poetically-pretty fuzz-rock.

We also have a wonderful and fun bonus for HOMEBAKE fans to get involved in this year, YES those crazy dudes from Sonicanimation are giving two people the chance to attend HOMEBAKE and perform on stage as those loud and furry character¹s Robbie and Theo. Each year whilst we are busy celebrating Australian Music at HOMEBAKE, we always like to offer punters the added extras. 2002 will see REACH OUT given naming rights to the signing tent whereby punters can get a chance to meet their favourite Homebake 2002 acts and score a signature or two or simply contribute to this worthy cause by way of offering money to the bucket collectors roaming the ground. An international food fair will rumble your tummy and tickle your nostrils, high impact rides and games, the introduction of the new sporting craze Hacky Sack, markets, information and awareness stalls providing a wealth of news regarding youth and community orientated causes, roving performers and lots more.
