Recycling
Homebake has always played its part in trying to lighten its footprint on the environment and this has been demonstrated through its infamous container recycling system. During the past 3 Homebake events more than a third of a million aluminium cans and PET plastic drink bottles have been captured for recycling. So keen are our recycling audience members, they average an incredible recycling rate of over 90%.
Apart from the brilliant environmental benefits we are buzzed to be able to provide a safer, cleaner and more beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens experience, one in which to watch some of the best tunes from across the nation & the Tasman!
So how does this recycling thing work?
To encourage our patrons to recycle all aluminium or PET plastic bottles, an extra fully refundable $1.00 deposit has been added to them. Each time you bring your container back to a Homebake recycling centre your $1.00 deposit is refunded to you in full. It is very simple really, all you have to do is follow these 2 steps:
1. Take your empty containers (aluminium can or PET plastic bottle) to one of our Homebake recycling centres located next to each of the main bars; and
2. Hand over your container or containers to receive your original deposit back in cash (please note a limit of 10 drink containers applies per visit - of course you can come back as often as you like).
Remember the last bar closes at 10.30pm and the recycling centres close at 10 pm sharp, so make sure you have recycled all your containers before these times.
